(off topic, but I've always wondered)
    Where did "Gravitonic" come from?

I made it up. Partially related to 'graviton' (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=graviton) I suppose.

Ah, figured maybe it was some space-age drink.

Lots of gravitonic bubbles in a fizzy quantum soup.

Probably some concoction of gin & tonic in a glass that provides it's own gravity so it doesn't float off.

Andrei could probably create a "hair" plugin for 3dsmax, and call it "Gravitonic"!

Andrei - what's your background with 3dsmax? How'd you get started writing plugins - as an animator?
I think I like Maya better.

I used to use 3D Studio for DOS and naturally switches to max when it came out. Being more programming oriented person I just wrote plugins that seemed useful to me.

Wow, I started out on 3ds for DOS as well. I can remember Alias|Wavefront (on SGI) before it became Maya too.

Oh yeah, I used to own an SGI O2 which I ran A|W PowerAnimator on. Cool stuff.

I think they were Indigos I used A|W on, which predate O2's I believe. One day one of the sysadmins was boasting about how cool their lab was - they'd just gotten some "Galileo" graphics board, plus installed some cool wild new thing called "PHP" on their web server (PHP 3 I think, could have even been it's precursor - PHP/FI?). Man, time flies.
