Green Light

» 08 March 2004 » In Me »

Yesterday I emptied out the mailbox after my trip and what do I find there but an approval notice for my application to adjust to permanent status in the United States. Translation: at last I have my green card. Afte 12 years of living here and 4.5 years of the application process, it’s a welcome sight. Now is the time to plan the big party.

That was Kreplachistan. :) Uzbekistan is where Uncle Sam is establishing a permanent military base, it seems.

Thanks for the unwarranted assumption, but I have never been an illegal alien.

Putting your racism and ignorance aside, Ucantpronouncemyname, “-stan” means “-land”, basically.

I could just as easily ask what’s up with all the lands over here? Netherlands, Greenland, Ireland, England, Scotland, Finland, Iceland, New Zealand, Poland, Swaziland, Switzerland, Thailand.

    Anyway … congrats Andrei!

LOL, yeah racism. Where did I refer to race? Typical liberal knee-jerk reaction. Most of those countries are FULL of radical fundamentalist muslim extremist terrorists hell-bent on blowing up all the “*lands”.

Ucantpronouncemyname, care to cite your sources?

There’s a plethora of news stories about suspected terrorist activities, camps, etc. in Afghanistan and western Pakistan. I wouldn’t trust the last three countries I listed either. Or probably the rest, for that matter.

Oh c’mon Andrei – trolls are what make threads this long. Think of what this mindless crap will do for your search relevance. :)

So, smart guys, if stan means “land”, what does “Uzbeki” mean? Kazakh? Kyrgyz? Paki? Tajiki?
